I thought Id post this for anyone interested.
I recently bought a camera that was in good condition, except one lens had seized up - and I couldnt focus it (couldnt turn the focus ring).
It was quite fiddly but fairly simple to fix.
Unscrew the tiny screws (I had 4 of them) around the focus ring and push it aside.
The lens then should pull apart into two peices. Dont be tempted to unscrew the even smaller screws that are now revealed, under neath the focus ring. I think these are for gaining access to the aperature. Or for replacing the lens.
You then need to unscrew the focus ring and clean it with White Spirit or something and re-oil it. I used sewing machine oil, which is very fine.
You can tell which bits need oiling or greasing because there will be traces of old grease in these places.
So clean it - re-oil and put it back together.
Be very careful you dont loose the screws and dont slice you fingers open on the sharp edges of the lens parts.
I dont really recommend doing this yourself, but posted this in case you want to know that it is possible.
I used a swiss army knife blade rather than a screwdriver.
Good luck
